(8-2-09) Slinger Super Speedway Story by Dan Margetta

Slinger, Wis., Aug. 2— Conrad Morgan scored his second super late model feature victory of the season Sunday night at the Slinger Super Speedway as he bested fellow longtime veterans Lowell Bennett and Al Schill in the Old Wisconsin Smokehouse 60.

“I’m about out of breath,” an excited Morgan stated from victory lane, “We’ve been waiting for three years to beat Lowell (Bennett) and by God, we did it tonight…fair and square.”

“Lapped traffic came up and my spotter said, ‘you’d better get back behind him (Morgan).” Bennett stated afterwards, “After that I didn’t have a lot for him (Morgan). Al (Schill) was right there too and I think it was Veteran’s Day up front there.”

Cardell Potter and Jon Reynolds Jr. paced the field at the start and on the drop of the green flag, the outside groove advanced with Reynolds grabbing the early lead over Morgan, Bennett, and Brad Mueller. Reynolds, Morgan, and Bennett raced nose to tail as Morgan looked for a way around Reynolds while behind them Al Schill, Steve Apel, and Dennis Prunty began to move forward. Morgan looked to the outside of Reynolds on lap ten and after a few laps of side by side battling, was able to charge into the lead as Bennett and Mueller moved up to challenge Reynolds for second. Reynolds’ car kicked loose in turn two on lap 14 and as he saved it, Mueller was forced to slow, allowing Schill, Apel, and Dennis Prunty to race by. Morgan, Bennett, and Schill began to distance themselves from the rest of the field while Apel, Dennis Prunty, and Dale Prunty battled over fourth. Bennett followed Morgan through lapped traffic and once a break opened up, ducked to the inside just past the halfway mark. As Bennett drew alongside Morgan down the backstretch, approaching lapped traffic in turn three forced him to fall back in line behind Morgan in second while Schill again closed in third. With the top three racing nose-to-tail, the rest of the front runners began to experience problems in the closing laps as both Mueller and Apel left the speedway with mechanical problems by lap 45. Morgan drove the final laps in near perfect form, never allowing Bennett or Schill to get a chance to challenge as the top three crossed the finish line under the checkered flag in tight formation with Morgan scoring the win over Bennett and Schill. Dennis Prunty completed another strong run with a fourth place finish while Dale Prunty was fifth. Mike Egan finished in sixth followed by Jon Reynolds Jr. and Brad Dahmer while Randy Schuler and Scott Schoeni completed the top ten finishers.  Earlier in the evening, Dale Prunty won the super late model fast dash and Collin Bamke was the fastest qualifier at 11.543 seconds.

(7- 22 -09) Fast time was great, the charge to the front was even better, but in the end it was the 17 car winning as the 89 car

faded to a 7th place finish in the 30th running of the Slinger Nationals.

By Dan Margetta
Slinger, Wis., July 22—Matt Kenseth held off a hard charging Eric Fransen to capture the win in the 200-lap 30th Annual Miller Lite Nationals presented by SuperSeal Wednesday night at the Slinger Super Speedway, his record-setting fifth overall victory in the prestigious super late model event. Not to be outdone, son Ross Kenseth followed up his father’s performance by scoring his first Slinger Speedway win in the 35-lap late model main event.

“It’s fun to come back and race these guys,” Matt Kenseth stated after becoming the event’s first five-time winner,” These are some of the best drivers you’ll find anywhere and the competition is really tough, but it’s always a lot of fun,”

After starting 13th in the event, that was resumed on lap 19 after persistent rain showers halted the race the night before, Kenseth nudged by Brad Mueller to take the lead just before the halfway mark, a position he would not relinquish despite a valiant late race charge by Fransen that saw the West Bend driver close to Kenseth’s rear bumper at the checkered flag.

“He (Fransen) ran me down there at the end and that was all I could do, “ Kenseth explained, “Two or three more laps and the race was his and I just barely had enough time.”

Fransen clearly drove the quickest car in the late stages and despite being caught up in lapped traffic, erased a straightaway deficit between himself and the leader in the closing laps, before falling just short of the victory at the finish line.

“The car was great and was just super consistent the whole race, “Fransen said, “We didn’t make any adjustments at the halfway point and I just needed a few more laps. It really was probably the lapped traffic that cost me the win. I was so much quicker than he was in the center of turns one and two.”

Dave Feiler took the green flag from the 20th starting position and after methodically slicing his way through the field, raced into third on lap 98 and ten laps later, charged into second place as Kenseth extended his lead in traffic. Feiler cleared the traffic on lap 161 but couldn’t close in on Kenseth as five laps later, Fransen rocketed around on the high side. Feiler held his ground in the final laps and took the checkered flag with a respectable third place result. Al Schill ran with the leaders the entire event and finished fourth while Matt Kocourek crossed the finish line in fifth.

Dale Prunty finished in the sixth position while Brad Mueller charged forward in the opening stages to lead for 20 laps before handling issues late relegated him to seventh. Conrad Morgan, Josh Bauer, and Michael Bilderback rounded out the top ten finishers while Collin Bamke, who led the event for the first 79 laps, finished eleventh.

(6-27-09) Plymouth Dirt Track

With rain falling in much of the area it avoided Plymouth until most of the scheduled program was completed.

The rain stopped track action with ten laps remaining in the Bumper-to-Bumper IRA Sprint car 30-lap A-main, and the

Late Model A-main waiting in the staging area. After a 4th in the heat, we stand 42 points out of first.

Donny Goeden won the Sprint A-main and Brad Lubach won the Grand National A-main.

Goeden who started in the fifth row, assumed the lead when Mike Kertcher spun in turn two on the twenty-first lap.

While getting ready to resume, the rain start falling and the race stopped.  Later race officials made the decision to end the race and the program.

(6-21-09) Slinger Super Speedway

Slinger, Wis., June 21—Jamie Wallace held off a hard charging Michael Bilderback to capture his second super late model feature win of the season in the PMF Landscape Supply 60 Sunday night at the Slinger Super Speedway.

“All these competitors out here are so tough,” Wallace stated from victory lane after turning back Bilderback’s challenge following a late caution flag with three laps to go, “we didn’t need that yellow with three to go, but it worked out fine.”

Rich Loch set the pace at the drop of the green flag as Wallace settled into second ahead of Al Schill, Conrad Morgan, and Bilderback, who was making his first appearance of the season at the world’s fastest quarter-mile oval.  Loch’s machine began to show wisps of smoke in the early laps but he was able to maintain the lead until lap five when the billows of smoke erupted from his car, producing the caution flag and ending his night. Wallace inherited the lead for the restart and he held the advantage over Schill and Morgan as racing resumed. Behind the top three, Bilderback and Brad Mueller disputed fourth place with Mueller taking the position on lap 13 as  Dennis Prunty moved up to challenge the top five. Prunty was the car on the move during the first half as he drove past both Bilderback and Mueller to secure the fourth spot by lap 25 and immediately began to go to work on Morgan for third. As Prunty and Morgan battled, Wallace and Schill were able to distance themselves from the rest of the field with Wallace comfortably ahead by nearly a straightaway. With Wallace cruising out front, Bilderback retook the fifth slot on lap 30 while Prunty ran down Schill for second in traffic. As Wallace appeared to have the race in hand during the late laps, Bilderback and Mueller raced their way to fourth and fifth respectively as David Prunty also moved forward in sixth. The race took a drastic turn on lap 57 when Dennis Prunty’s car slipped in turn one and before he could regain control, tagged the back of Schill, sending him around as the caution flag waved. The cars of Schill and Dennis Prunty were sent to the tail of the field for the final three lap shootout restart with Wallace now leading over Bilderback, Mueller, and David Prunty. Wallace chose the inside line and Bilderback took to the outside as the race resumed and after making numerous unsuccessful tries in the high line which included a minor scuff against the backstretch wall, Bilderback quickly ducked to the inside with less than two laps to go. Wallace was up to the challenge however and he was able to maintain the lead, driving under the checkered flag for his second super late model feature win of the season.

Bilderback settled for a strong second place finish and was satisfied with his result. “This is first time here with the super late this season, “Bilderback said afterwards. “To come home second with the car mostly in one piece makes it a great run.”

Dennis Prunty charged all the way back up to third in the final laps while David Prunty nudged Brad Mueller for the fourth spot at the finish. Dale Prunty finished sixth while Al Schill and Lowell Bennett were seventh and eighth respectively. Steve Apel and Randy Schuler rounded out the top ten finishers

(4-30-09)Anytown, USA. BMRE is finishing the work required to get the 89's rockin'

on the dirt and the tar as we will be opening Plymouth Dirt Track and Slinger Speedway

this weekend. Come on out and cheer us on and visit us after the races.

(4-19-09) Random Lake ,WI. The BMRE Race  Team  headed due north up 57 to the

Plymouth Dirt Track for the first of the open practice sessions prior to the '09 season.

"The car was good, real good" stated driver Brad "JJ" Mueller, "We'll rock the joint".

As with all testing, you try to be as coy as possible with changes to keep ahead of the

competition, so BMRE changed the number on the car and all crew members wore full

beards and santa bellies so they weren't recognized.

(4-5-09) Random Lake, WI. Just wanted to update all is well for the upcoming season. We are

still searching for a few sponsors to keep the 2 cars humming all year, and we'd like to show you

how we can help your company with members of the team used with your ad campaign.

(3-22-09) Random Lake, WI. Longtime crew member Ron and Chris the sign man have

been doing research on material's for decals and have found 1,800 degree rotor temps have

an adverse affect on wheel decals, but the results actually look kinda cool.

Also, the dirt car is at 80% and we have a picture for you to view....have a nice day

(3-9-09) Thanks to everyone that checked out our display at the Motorsports show. We now

will skin, assemble and scale our cars and have them all pretty (and fast) for the start of the 2009 season.

Early scheduled races for the team include May 2nd Manitowoc, May 3rd Plymouth and the 4th at Slinger.

We also will race Seymour Speedway  LM show May 24th and Anderson, Indiana 300 lapper June 16th.

(3-4-09)  Random Lake WI. Brad will be displaying trailers for sale at the Washington County fairground this Saturday

for the Motorsports Show. The show runs from 8-5 and is 5 bucks. Bring in your Brad Mueller Shirt, hat or

whatever and get it signed, or just ask him a dumb question.....better yet.....buy a trailer.

The fairgrounds is at hwy 45 and PV just south of West Bend and North of Jackson.
